1972 RHD 911 2.4E sunroof coupe

Not our usual offering, but when we given the opportunity to acquire this lovely RHD ’72E sunroof coupe, we simply could resist.

Finished in its original colour of #2323 Tangerine, this is an original UK RHD car which was supplied new by Dick Lovett Porsche on 1st of July 1972.
As an ‘Oel Klapper’ variant, featuring the rear wing mounted oil filler flap as well as the famous ‘E specification performance engine, factory sunroof and RHD configuration, this is a rare classic Porsche.

After a number of years as a regular road car, the vehicle was purchased and subsequently race prepared by the late, great Bob Watson of Bob Watson Engineering. Under his expert guidance, the car competed successfully throughout the UK and Europe, gaining a lap record at Zandvoort in the process.

Following on from its race career, the vehicle was unused for a number of years before undergoing several years of restoration, beginning in 2010. This work comprised an extensive body restoration with many new panels fitted, a repaint in Tangerine and extensive mechanical works – All of which are fully documented in the vehicles history file.

A specialist tune of the injection and ignition systems has just confirmed factory power, making for a very lively engine – The car is offered for sale with an extensive history folder, copies of all old registration documents from new and a selection of race photos.

In summary, a great opportunity to buy a decent and example of what is widely regarded to be the pick of the final series of early 911, with the added benefit of an interesting provenance.
