Early 1965 LHD 912 3-dial coupe with VW engine and 15″ Fuchs alloys

Lovely early 3-dial coupe, fitted with a Volkswagen 1600 engine many years ago. Delivered new to a Doctor in California in September of 1965, with just two factory options. A speaker and an antenna. What more do you need…

The car has been garaged and essentially unused for a good number of years. We’ve just finished running it through the workshop, where she received a complete brake overhaul and new dynamo, in addition to all of the usual recommissioning works.

Runs and drives pretty well and that VW engine is no slouch. Good 5-speed 901 transmission. Replacement front tank support fitted in recent years, but there’s more to do. She has good bones, but she also has some rust holes underneath. Plus, a dent on the roof and some localised paint chips and blisters etc….Presentable after 6ft or two beers. She’s scruffy inside and out, but also very cool. The original colour was 6404 Light Ivory, my favourite.

Absolutely bags of character. This is one car I would really love to see put right and hopefully reunited with a 616/36 motor for good measure. We can return this car to showroom condition for you, if required.
